Attention friendly knitters and crocheters!

The holiday season is upon us (according to all of the stores in America), and while it's nice to get, it's nice to give, too.  My friend Liz has mentioned a project over at her blog - there are kids in Nepal that need handknits in a big way.  It gets extraordinarily cold over there, and many children have neither proper clothing nor proper bedding to keep them warm during the long winters.  If you can help, please do.  It will mean a lot to people on the other side of the world who don't have the sorts of things that we do.

Also, my friend Jennie has an incredible doctor who founded an AIDS clinic and orphanage in Botswana.  Even though it's Africa, it gets cold there too, and those kiddies sure could use some nice stuff too

In both cases, everyone is looking for brightly colored items in children's sizes, in natural fibers if possible.  The items will most likely be handwashed, if washed at all.

Perhaps this holiday season, we can give up a little of our stash and give up a little of our time and help make someone's life  a little more comfortable.
